The Rapid hardmetal shoe offers optimal grip and optimum durability on hard surfaces. The smooth front shoes have an outer edge with pieces of carbide. Cement carbide pieces improve the durability of the shoe when needed, for example on very hard surfaces. The rear shoes are folded and also have an outer edge with hardened carbide pieces. The outer fold, with pieces of carbide along with a full fold, gives the horse extra grip. Because of their durability, these shoes can often be reused.
