Natural green clay support for horses suffering from gastric ulcers
EQUIMARIS and LES ARGILES DU VELAY have joined forces to offer one of the most renowned food-grade clays for horses suffering from gastric ulcers.
Argile du Velay CLYSTER is based on natural Velay green clay, valued for its adsorption and binding properties as well as its nutritional and zootechnical benefits. It helps support digestive comfort, regulate intestinal transit, and protect the feed ration against undesirable compounds.
Why choose Argile du Velay?
Velay Clay is a natural, multi-mineral clay, rich in silicates, minerals, and trace elements.
Its properties provide:
Valuable adsorption and binding capacity
Support for digestive comfort
Regulation of intestinal transit
Improved protection of the feed ration against undesirable compounds
Natural nutritional and zootechnical benefits
Since the 1990s, Velay Clay has built a strong reputation for quality and naturalness and is highly valued by animal nutrition formulators and premium markets.
Veterinary study & benefits
A clinical veterinary study was conducted in 2023 by Claire Scicluna, member of AVEF (French Association of Equine Veterinarians).
The study involved 20 horses from various disciplines suffering from gastric ulcers. Gastroscopy examinations performed under sedation were used to establish the results.
Summary of the results:
When used alone, the Argile du Velay CLYSTER syringe was effective in 1 out of 2 cases.
When combined with omeprazole, it was effective in 4 out of 5 cases, particularly when used for 15 days.
Argile du Velay CLYSTER therefore helps prolong and enhance the effects of omeprazole and helps reduce the risk of recurrence after discontinuation of omeprazole-based treatment.
This makes it particularly suitable for competitions or races requiring compliance with regulatory anti-doping withdrawal periods.
